Life in the 21st century can be very challenging and it comes with its problems. The lifestyle of the 21st century is very demanding and you might not be left with ample time to relieve yourself off the worries caused by daily quarrels andmentally draining jobs and activities present in our lives .You might find yourself fatigued and always unable to concentrate on your work, like your mental state is hazy. What is brain Fog ?

Brain Fog isn’t exactly a disease. It may be a symptom of other medical conditions. It is a state of mind when you can’t process information as efficiently as you would without it. For instance if you have been thinking too much or have been worried too much for a long time, you might develop anxiety and depression. Depression is a major trigger of Brain Fog. Depression causes mental fatigue and that makes it harder for your brain to think and process information. Reasoning may become difficult and eventually your overall wellbeing and productivity may be reduced. Brain fog compromises your ability to think and make decisions, and may have a huge impact on your life.


Another reason that could trigger Brain Fog could be Lack of sleep. If you aren’t sleeping enough it means you aren’t giving ample time for your brain to rest. A brain who hasn’t had enough rest will not function as sharply as it would if it had rest. If you have sleep issues you might want to take medication for that to increase your quality of sleep. Sleeping too little can cause cloudy thoughts and poor concentration.


Hormonal changes can also be responsible for Brain Fog. Levels of hormones such as progesterone and oestrogen increase during pregnancy and may temporarily impair cognitive abilities. A drop in oestrogen level at menopause can cause forgetfulness and clouded thinking. Ever wondered why your wife is taking too long to decide her clothes she want to wear on the party or the food she would like to order in the restaurant. She might be suffering from brain fog due to menopause or pregnancy.


Your diet plays a very important role in the development of this problem. Imagine we live in a world where we consume processed foods all the time. From sugar to fats. All the junk food that you are eating is not healthy food and has low fat in it. Low fat is not good for your brain. The fizzy drinks we consume and the preservatives in the foods we eat all may be a contributor to this problem in our lives. The syntheticfood we consume is a big problem in our lives. As you know the brain consists of 70% fat, and the fat we consume is low fat present in the burgers. Doctors recommend we consume out fats from natural sources such as Nuts, avocados, coconuts, sea fish, vegetable oils and eggs.  A deficiency of Vitamin B12 can also trigger brain fog. If you are taking proton pump inhibitors daily and wondering why can’t you focus it might be a deficiency of vitamin B12 in your body leading to brain fog.

Symptoms

Here are some of the symptoms which may be a sign of brain fog:

·         Cloudy judgements ambivalent feelings

If you feel you are having symptoms of brain fog you might want to make changes in your diet and watch your sleep. Have a full night’s sleep and take supplements for vitamin b12 and vitamin 6. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and exercise. A healthy life style is the key to healthy mind.

Although Brain fog isn’t a life threatening disease, but it may lower you productivity level and make you feel less active. You should speak to you doctor about your problem as it might be because of a medicine you consume. Your doctor might change your medication or lower your dose if he believes it to be the problem. You can always keep yourself protected by looking after your diet and physical health. Mental health is equally Important as physical health.
